Sew and Yarn Quilt June 2023

Members of Sew and Yarn recently donated a beautiful hand sewn quilt to the Ardrossan Hospital/Dinham Wing to be used as needed. Made of all donated materials the quilt had 63 ten inch decorated squares. Previously a similar quilt was made and donated to the Village at Maitland. Some members have commenced sewing pieces for a third quilt to be donated to the Chapel Wing Maitland Hospital. The idea for the quilts came from a former leader who donated all of the materials used at that time. Members also complete their own projects and look forward to new members joining our happy group.

Therapy Dogs, June 2023

A very informative presentation by Dave and Glenda who explained the requirements and extensive training dogs undertake before being accepted to visit nursing home residents and other community settings. It is easy to see why the dogs Buka and Daisy are welcomed by the persons they visit.
